First Community Service Project a Success!

The Madison County Frontier Girls raised $200.00 for the Fredericktown Intermediate School last week.  The girls and their parents ran a concession stand at the PPP Round-Up!  They made nachos, hotdogs and burgers to sell along with chips and sodas.  The girls all did a great job and looked great in their new homemade vests!  Good job parents and scouts!

Registration Campfire a Success!

MCFG Troop#147 had their first official registration on Saturday, September 10th, despite the pouring rain!  Eight girls came to registration ready to join and six others expressed wanting to join at our first official meeting.  It looks as though we will have 14 girls signed up soon!  The girls hiked into the woods and gathered firewood for our campfire and then roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for S'mores.  They all seemed to have a great time and several girls mentioned how fun it would be to camp at the same spot.

We are very excited about all the parents who volunteered to take a role in the troop as well!   We now have a Troop Treasurer, Fundraiser Coordinator and Medical Coordinator!

We originally planned on limiting our troop to girls in grades 3-8, but after finding out other parents with smaller children are interested we are opening the troop up to children ages 3 through 8th grade.   Thankfully we had a volunteer who was willing to lead the Penguins (Ages 3-5).  Now we will need to find a leader for the Otters (Ages 5-8).

A big thank-you goes out to Tara Hale for helping me get everything ready for the campfire!  It isn't easy building campfires in the rain!!!!!!
